5TH Annual POWER SHOWCASE – Parent’s To Do List

Congratulations on your son being selected and named to the 5th Annual POWER SHOWCASE All-World & All-American Team.  I promise that it will be a rewarding and memorable experience for him.

As you can imagine, there are numerous details that must be attended to in order to make this event go off without a hitch.  To organize and simplify your preparation for the event, I have put together the following checklist for your reference.

1.  Register On-Line: Go to power-showcase.com and complete the on-line registration form under 5th Annual Event heading.

2.  Registration Fee: The registration fee for the POWER SHOWCASE is $1050.00.  Initial deposit of $500.00 or payment in full is due seven (7) days after on-line registration.  Final payment is due October 1, 2010.

3.  Releases and Waivers:  In order to participate in the event each player and/or parent must print out and sign the three releases and waivers located on the home page under 5th Annual Event.

4.  Photos: Three high-resolution photos of your son must be sent to Lynn Griffin at lynngriffin@power-showcase.com for completion of your son’s bio.

5.  Coaches Letter: A letter written by your son’s high school or prominent summer league coach discussing your son’s character both on and off the field.

6.  Hotel Reservations: The Sheraton Hotel Downtown Phoenix is the official hotel of the POWER SHOWCASE.  Located only three blocks from Chase Field it is where the 5th Annual POWER SHOWCASE Welcome Dinner will be held on Tuesday night.  Go to Hotel under 5th Annual Event to reserve a room at a special rate.

7.  Welcome Dinner: Make your dinner selections for the Welcome Dinner and Uniform Presentation.  You can make these selections on the website under 5th Annual Event – Welcome Dinner.  Note only your son’s meal is included in his registration fee and will be paid for by the POWER SHOWCASE.

8.   Airfare: POWER SHOWCASE has teamed up with American Airlines to provide a 5% discount on lowest published fares.  To obtain this discount go to aa.com and enter promotion code “32D0AH” when reserving your flights.

9.   Car Rental: Avis is the official rent-a-car company of the POWER SHOWCASE.  Call 1-888-754-8878 and give the representative the code “g027999” to obtain a 5% discount on your reservation.

10. How To Pay:  Registration fee and welcome dinner payments can be made on-line through PayPal (a 4% processing fee will be assessed) or by check payable to Power Showcase, Inc. and sent to Brian Domenico, Power Showcase, Inc., 9721 Saddle Brook Dr., Boca Raton, FL 33496.

11. Home Runs That Help campaign:  This is a great way to give back to your community and it really adds a special moment during your son’s Home Run hitting. Please read more info about the program.( http://power-showcase.com/home-runs-that-help/)  Also the promo video explains in a much greater detail so watch the Promo video again.

Contact your local church/hospital/childrens hospital / school to find a partner (. or family/school mate – etc.)
Partner does not have to have a terminal disease – last year’s winner, Travis Flores, partnered with his grandfather who has  alzheimer’s.

You then will set a time with the player and partner to meet – you will take a photo and send that to Lynn. Along with basic info about the child – Our Announcer mentions interesting tidbits about the partner along with  player’s  baseball stats, etc. (You should also contact your local newspaper and have them cover it )
Once I get the pictures- of course it goes on player profile page and other pages in the site.

When Player is up at bat, his first home run hit – the ball is retrieved, signed by Player  and the distance added.
After the Derby – Player  & partner will meet again so Player can present the ball. (And another photo op for local media) and again, you send that photo/info to Lynn  and it’s added to the site.

Player  and partner’s pix go on the Jumbotron at Chase Field when Player is up at bat. Our Announcer mentions interesting tidbits about the partner along with Player’s baseball stats, etc.

We broadcast the event LIVE on the web so the partner could even be watching when Player  is at bat. This is a great way to give back to your community and it really adds a special moment during your son’s Home Run hitting.

Please contact me should you have any questions.  I can be reached directly at (561) 271-7247.
